TU Dortmund
TU Dortmund University with its 17 departments in the natural and engineering sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences is a dynamic university with a strong profile in research, teaching, promotion of young scientists and transfer.
The Department of Statistics at TU Dortmund University is the only statistics department in the German-speaking countries, with particular strengths in interdisciplinary research. It offers a diverse environment by leading and participating in several large collaborative research projects in statistics, computer science, engineering, and social and life sciences. Its scientific network includes, among others, the Fraunhofer Institutes IML and ISST, the Leibniz institutes IfADo and ISAS as well as
the newly founded Research Center “Trustworthy Data Science and Security” as part of the Research Alliance Ruhr. The Research Center builds a scientific bridge between statistics, computer science and social sciences in order to increase trust in digital technologies and methods.
